Barcelona was quite possibly my laziest city. I spent most of my days lazily rolling out of bed with nothing more in mind than laying out at the beach, tapas and sangria. For me, Barcelona was all about basking in the lifestyle rather than seeing the sites. The city radiates a warm, laid-back feel; it shows through the locals’ smiles and palm tree lined beach markets.
I am so grateful for that lazy time though. Although Barcelona’s reputation is the opposite of calm, it’s exactly what I wanted. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in what you’re ‘supposed’ to do when you travel. But, traveling isn’t about what you’re ‘supposed’ to do. It’s about what you want to do. Everyone has their own experience and that’s okay.
It was perfect to spend some of my final European days here- reminiscing on all of my travels under the Spanish sun.
